About Minneapolis Farmers Market

The Minneapolis Farmers Market connects local farmers and gardeners with Twin Cities residents to build a sense of community over a shared love of food. Our market empowers visitors to develop a personal connection to the food they eat by learning where it comes from, how it was treated and how to prepare it — directly from the grower. As the largest farmer-managed market in the state, we serve as a community resource, a meeting place, a tourist draw, and most importantly, a place to access Minnesota’s greatest selection of fresh produce, plants and locally made products. Our roots in Minneapolis started in 1876 at the corner of First Street and Hennepin Avenue. In 1937, our current flagship market opened at Lyndale and Glenwood Avenue North, marked by the three signature red sheds that still cover our market today.

Position Overview

The Minneapolis Farmers Market has operated food access programming at the market for nearly a decade. Over the years, our team has witnessed exponential growth in this programming as community needs have continued to rise. Our largest program, which allows customers to exchange SNAP dollars for market tokens, is the main way we connect community members with local growers and producers to ensure everyone has access to fresh, local food.

From the seasoned farmers to the customers who rely on the market as an open-air grocery store during peak season, we believe everyone on market grounds plays a crucial role in our local food system. We’re seeking individuals that are passionate about people, community and the way food connects us all to assist in daily operations.
