Well, the Minneapolis Farmers Market growers have been busy doing the things that growers do in the winter: ordering seeds, cuttings and plants to transplant, they have cleaned out greenhouses and prepared the systems, the soil and so much more. Some growers now even have things growing, nestled in green houses and high tunnels, being coddled and loved so they stay warm and wet enough to thrive.

Some of these little plants are beautiful flowers and landscape plants ready to land, in all their glory, in your garden and gardens around the city. Other plants (peppers, greens like lettuce, spinach and so much more!) are stretching their leaves and roots and growing into the delicious food they will become. They’ll be ready before we know it to be driven to the Market early in the mornings this spring and summer, for you to come and collect—and bless our tables all around the region.

The days are longer, the weather is warming (well, maybe) and the spring and summer Market schedule is locked in. We are looking forward to a great season this year and though construction can make traffic a challenge-we promise to bring you the best directions each week right on our website and in this newsletter.
