MUSICAL PERFORMANCE by Hannah Flowers, Sunday at 10:00am

Hannah has been playing the harp and singing for over a decade.Her passion is performing traditional Irish music and she enjoys collaborating with other musicians through the Center for Irish Music. A trained classical harpist and singer, she enjoys exploring a multitude pf musical genres including Ancient, Celtic, Jazz and Pop.

The Food Group: Produce Rescue Program Kicks Off This Weekend!

The Food Group, formerly Emergency Foodshelf Network, is partnering with Hunger Solutions Minnesota to collect surplus produce from farmers, vendors and customers at the Minneapolis Farmers Market to distribute to food shelves and meal programs in the Twin Cities metro area.

Produce Rescue will take place on Sundays beginning July 12 and will continue throughout the Minneapolis Farmers Market season. If you would like to donate excess produce, please visit the Produce Rescue tent or find one of our volunteers. Look for the bright orange “The Food Group” vests!

What’s In Season?

We’re getting to the good part of the growing season and there is so much produce in season!  Sweet Corn, raspberries, blueberries, peppers, onions, currants, garlic scapes, sugar snap peas, green beans, kale, baby new potatoes, zucchini, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, turnips, radishes and cucumbers have arrived! In addition early season produce such as herbs, leafy lettuces, rhubarb, bok choy, baby beets, swiss chard, spinach, bedding plants, and hanging baskets are expected to be on hand this weekend. You’ll find farmstead products like eggs, cheeses, poultry, bison meat, pork, beef, fish and honey. Cut flowers, sauces, soaps, pastries and breads will also be on hand.

The Lyndale Market is open 7 days a week, Monday-Sunday from 6:00am – 1:00pm beginning April 25th and running through October. The Hennepin Avenue Market is open Thursdays from 6:00am-6:00pm beginning May 7th and running through October.
